Speech and Quotation Marks

If someone talks in your sex story put their words (or thoughts in speech marks. Double quotes (" ") or single quotes (' ') are fine.

Be consistent and use the same ones throughout your story.

If you quote inside a quote use the one you haven't already used.

This is the basics of writing speech and really important, as without this punctuation your reader will get confused and struggle to follow the story.

Start a new paragraph

Start a new paragraph every time a new person speaks. This makes it really easy for your reader to follow your story by breaking it up visually on the page.

Upper and lower case letters

When someone talks start with a capital letter. Then end with a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark. Keep the punctuation inside the speech marks.

“I love the taste of Amanda.” he said, licking his lips after pulling away from mine. “Let me taste you.”

Notice even though there's a full stop after Amanda above, you don't need a capital letter on the next word.
